Musharraf hails rogue scientist

Pakistan President General Pervez Musharraf has said that he would never allow foreign inspectors to examine the country's nuclear facilities. He said that all questions of the IAEA or foreign scientists examining Pakistan's nuclear facilities and interrogating nuclear scientist Dr AQ Khan only laid credence to the fact that Pakistan could not be trusted. "That is tantamount to admitting that we cannot be trusted in our own house. Our nuclear programme is for the protection of the people of Pakistan," The Nation quoted him as saying. He further said that Dr Khan was a national hero and the issue relating to his interrogation and questioning by foreign scientists was very sensitive.

brian h: Pakistan is one of the least screwed up Islamic countries in the world, which isn't saying much.

That is as an assertion that is open to challenge. Christian and other non-muslims living in Pakistan or from Pakistan, are not likely to agree with you.

Pakistan is the nation that has the largest number of mad-rassas of any muslim country. That hardly bodes well for the future.

It is also full of jihadi groups of the very worst kind and riven by religious hatred of non-muslims.

I realise that your "which isn't saying much", is an indication of muslim nations in general, yet Pakistan is not an example by any means, of even a half decent muslim country.

BTW, cant think of any muslim nation that is half decent.
